A 14-Year-Old’s Story Of Pressure, Silence, And Lasting Trauma

A 14-year-old walks into a clinic expecting a test and walks out carrying trauma, silence, and questions that no adult around her would answer. That’s the reality Sherie Marie shares with us.  This week Sherie describes the chilling lack of informed consent, the absence of basic compassion, and the way a minor can be pushed through a life-altering procedure without anyone stopping to ask, “Is this what you want?”

The chemical abortion pill also raises new alarms around forced and coerced abortion. When pills can be shipped, hidden, or misused, oversight shrinks and vulnerability grows, especially for teens and women in controlling relationships. Learn what you and your community can do right now to help end this.

Taking “Pro-choice” to “Forced Choice”

Thirteen-year-old Valentina lives in Turin, Italy (called Torino by the locals). You probably remember this city, located in the northwest part of the country, as the host of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Now it’s known for something far less noble – forced abortion.

Valentina had sex with her fifteen-year-old boyfriend and became pregnant. She wanted to keep her baby but her parents didn’t want her “to ruin her life”.
