“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” What kind of Christmas memories do these words stir in your heart? Maybe it’s the Charlie Brown Christmas special. Maybe you recall, as a child, memorizing those lines for the Christmas Eve service. Most likely, your memories warm your heart. But thousands of brave soldiers will only have their memories to keep them warm this year. They may be in a dangerous and desolate Afghanistan location where the glitter and trimmings of Christmas is the last thing they’ll see. Please keep these soldiers, and the people back at home who love them, in your prayers this Christmas. They’re why we can publicly celebrate the birth of our Savior without fear, and while we can tell everyone about Jesus our Savior without worry about our political adversary would do.
