Women and men who have had an abortion often experience guilt, sadness, chronic depression, fear and/or anger in the aftermath. These feelings are commonly referred to as Post-Abortion Stress (PAS).

Abortion not only kills an innocent child, but it leaves a wake of destruction in its path. Mothers and fathers affected by abortion often suffer with post-traumatic stress accompanied by guilt and pain. Thankfully, there is hope and healing after abortion. April is Abortion Recovery Month and this week we are joined by Luana Stoltenberg and Brian Ottinger as they share their stories of recovery after abortion.

Guests

Dr. Theresa Burke is the Founder of Rachel’s Vineyard – the largest post abortion ministry in the world. Her healing programs offer a unique sensory based treatment which integrates emotional, psychological and spiritual dimensions. The healing journey uses creative “Living Scripture Exercises,” and rituals which engage the mind, body, and soul. The Living Scriptures coupled with group activities, prayer, therapeutic facilitation, cognitive restructuring and discussions offer an effective process for grief work grounded in Jesus Christ and the Word of God. This distinct program provides an exceptional and effective recovery process for victims of trauma and those who have spent years in talk therapy, but still struggle to move beyond their traumatic experience.

Adrienne LeCoure is a recent revert to the Catholic faith. Having rejected the church early in life, she set out on a worldwide mission to find truth outside of religion. Two decades of futile seeking and a vast accumulation of skills, resources and healing modalities left her empty and spiritually starving. It was the tremendous grief she experienced through her abortion that finally brought her to her knees and back to the church. Her return to the faith has shattered her heart wide open and freed her from the bondage that held her captive for years.  She hopes to share the devastating reality of abortion and God’s capacity for greatness through her personal testimony of abortion.
