SCOTUS Hears Oral Arguments on Chemical Abortion

Today the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in FDA v. Alliance Hippocratic Medicine, Danco Laboratories, L.L.C. v. Alliance Hippocratic Medicine. This case presents the court with an opportunity to protect women and their babies from the dangers of the FDA’s sloppy and political rollout of the dangerous chemical abortion drug.

• During the proceedings the FDA’s disregard for women’s safety was made apparent. When questioned about the 500% increase in emergency room visits, a statistic that was not challenged, the FDA’s response was that such a visit did not necessarily constitute an event that warranted their concern.
• Attorneys challenging the FDA and Danco Laboratories asserted that the mail out application of the abortion pill has turned emergency room visits into follow up visits for the dangerous pill. The FDA appeared to believe that their decision making regarding what is safe is beyond the understanding or oversight of the court.
• Danco Laboratories was pressed by Justice Alito who made clear that their primary interest in this case is their continued ability to financially profit off the sale of chemical abortion drugs.
• Life Issues Institute has long said that the removal of published journal articles indicating the danger of chemical abortion was political in nature. The reference of their removal during argumentation is indicative of this truth.
