President Bush Honors Pledge, Appoints Roberts

Editor   |   July 20, 2005

(Cincinnati, OH) July 7, 2005 – President Bush has appointed Judge John Roberts to the US Supreme Court. Judge Roberts is currently serving on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. The Senate confirmed him just two years ago by a unanimous vote. The President has honored his pledge to Americans that he would appoint a nominee who will strictly interpret the Constitution and not legislate from the bench. While we don’’t know how he’’d rule on abortion, he has demonstrated faithfulness to the Constitution and the rule of law. Judge Roberts, a Harvard graduate with honors, has impeccable credentials and is highly respected by both sides of the political aisle. We join the President in asking the Senate to conduct quick and efficient hearings so that our nation’s highest Court will be fully staffed upon the beginning of its next term.
