Urban Warfare

Bradley Mattes   |   May 27, 2011

With their mega abortion facilities set up in urban neighborhoods to target poor and minority women, Planned Parenthood will stop at nothing to keep their business thriving, their abortion mills constantly running and their cash registers singing.

A new report released this week has revealed some sobering statistics. It shows that women below the poverty line are having abortions at a higher rate than before. Between 2000 and 2008, their rate of abortion increased by 18%–from 44.4 to 52.2 abortions per women aged 15-44. This stands in stark contrast to the national abortion average that, at the very same time, has dropped by 8%. It’s further evidence Planned Parenthood’s strategy to target the poor and minorities in our nation is working.

But these statistics aren’t going unanswered. Life Issues Institute and a growing number of other pro-life groups are countering with efforts to educate and reach out to those callously targeted by the abortion industry—targeted as “easy pickings” to increase the profit margin.

Here is the devastating reality of just one year. In 2005 there were 597,000 Live Black Births. During that same time there were 452,000 Black Induced Abortions. Did you notice how little daylight there is between the number of living Black babies and those who were aborted? National Vital Statistics Reports Vol. 58, No. 4 (Oct. 14, 2009) and Vol. 58, No. 8 (Dec. 23, 2009)

A step at a time, we’re making inroads to reaching out to urban groups in the crosshairs of Planned Parenthood. Our team has been hard at work with the urban outreach project called Protecting Black Life, where we’re working to expose Planned Parenthood’s ugly secret—its impact on the Black Community, and expose the injustices inflicted on them by the abortion industry. Please don’t hesitate to contact Rev. Arnold Culbreath, the director of Protecting Black Life, to help you in your local efforts.

It’s clear where the battle lines have been drawn in this life-and-death battle of abortion. We still have a lot to accomplish. We need your help in spreading the word about the work that we’re doing in our outreach to minority communities and poor communities. Together we can make significant progress against Planned Parenthood’s efforts to devastate them by abortion.
