Our neighbor, Dennis, is a colorful individual, easy to like. His wife, the love of his life, died from cancer shortly before they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, not long before we moved into the neighborhood. We had him and the neighbors in for a Christmas open house. He saw our multiple Christmas trees and was reminded of his wife, Laura, and asked if he could bring some of her Christmas ornaments to our home. We were honored to say yes. Dennis knew we’d take care of his wife’s keepsakes and he cried while setting the bags down. We took the opportunity to invite him over Christmas Eve. But the holiday is still too painful and he instead stays home alone. Please pray for Dennis this Christmas Eve. Pray that he finds peace this Christmas.
