Americans rallied around Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin. Prayer was back in vogue in the wake of his cardiac arrest on Cincinnati’s playing field. Grown men wept as the emergency unfolded and dropped to their knees seeking God’s face on behalf of their teammate. ESPN anchors even prayed together on air. That prayer worked. Damar is making an amazing recovery. This young man is a serious Christian who prior to this health crisis said, “My faith is in God. So, whatever He has planned for me, that’ll be it.” Little did he know then just how true his words would be. I won’t hold my breath, but the NFL, TV anchors, and sports fans who mocked Tim Tebow for praying on the field owe him an apology the size of a Super Bowl ring.
