When Canada legalized euthanasia six years ago, the law required the request for euthanasia must come from the patient, and only the patient. But now a guidance document for medical professionals states doctors have a professional obligation to bring up euthanasia as a “treatment Option.” If that’s not chilling enough, Roger Foley is suing because he alleges nurses asked him if he wanted euthanasia because his bills were piling up. When Roger said no, he said they sent in a collection agency that further pressured him to opt for euthanasia. He says the hospital even refused to provide food and fluids. Patient safeguards are dropping like flies, and we know why. In a government-controlled healthcare system, dollars are more important than the lives and wellbeing of patients.
