Christmas means HOPE is real. Ending this special week of hope, I’d like you to meet two women who put their hope in the Lord. Mikaela and Shawnte faced seemingly insurmountable hurdles to choosing life for their babies. Mikaela was threatened with homelessness by her father if she didn’t abort her baby, and Shawnte was already homeless. Both were surrounded by people, including fathers of the babies, who pressured them to choose abortion. Each woman found her way to Mary’s Shelter, a maternity home, where they discovered something very different – support and love. Their journeys have been hard but are grateful they chose them. Psalms 33:22 fits perfectly. “May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our HOPE in you.”
