Earlier I told you about big businesses paying travel expenses for their female employees to get abortions but not offering similar benefits for women who choose life for their babies. I said then it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Apparently Andrea Lucas, a commissioner on the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission agrees. She launched an investigation into such companies, saying they discriminate. The EEOC will likely try to conciliate with the companies and if that fails they may decide to sue. In September Hulu was caught cutting maternity and paternity leave while paying for abortion travel expenses. These companies pay abortion expenses because it’s far less costly than covering birth-related expenses. I’ll keep you posted on the outcome of this interesting development.
