Unborn Child Support Act

Bradley Mattes   |   August 09, 2022

Pro-life members of the US Senate have introduced legislation called the Unborn Child Support Act.  It would allow states to require that child support be paid to the mother from the moment of fertilization.  It would be applied retroactively and be paid before the child is born.  It also provides flexibility in the event the mother doesn’t want to receive support because she doesn’t want the father involved.  Advocates of this bill believe America’s policies should reflect the indisputable science that life begins at fertilization.  Life Issues Institute supports this bill because it does two important things.  First, it gives support to women when they need it the most.  Second, it clearly demonstrates human life exists from the moment of fertilization and should be respected and supported.
