When little baby Harper was born just 23-weeks into pregnancy, doctors gave her just a one percent chance of survival. Harper had a three-and-a-half-inch gap between her upper and lower esophagus. Three surgeries hadn’t entirely closed the space. Then surgeons placed magnets, one each on her lower and upper esophagus. Over the next forty-eight hours the attraction of the magnets brought the two sections together. The magnets facilitated a fusion of the tissue so that doctors didn’t have to do yet another surgery on Harper’s tiny and battered body. Her journey isn’t over. She continues face other medical challenges like learning how to eat. It’s amazing such a simple tool resulted in this medical miracle. Let’s thank God who was directing every successful detail.
