I had the privilege of attending a retreat for pro-life leaders who assist individuals with abortion trauma. We gathered at New Heart of Texas Ministries, outside Hempstead, Texas. The organization hosts retreats dealing with abortion trauma, veterans struggling with PTSD, and victims of sexual abuse. We’re all members of the Abortion Recovery Coalition, groups offering hope and healing for those suffering from the trauma of abortion. The retreat was a time of getting to know one another on a deeper level than our monthly Zoom calls. We shared ideas, personal testimonies, and benefited from one-on-one conversations. As we prepare for a post-Roe America, it’s expected more women and men traumatized by abortion will come forward. And we must be ready to help them.
