Pro-abortion advocates like to trot out the old argument that babies born into poor families are better off aborted. Laura Hermer, a Minnesota law professor wrote it’s wrong to “doom babies to a life of poverty” as if there’s no chance for financial improvement during their lives. She condemns a whole category of humans to death because in her view they will amount to nothing. Hermer cites the Turnaway Study, debunked and biased research comparing women who had abortions with those who were turned away because of the lateness of their pregnancies. What she failed to reveal is 96% of the women who didn’t have abortions were glad for it. One more thing, poverty should never be a reason to deny people their right to life. It’s elitism at its worst.
