Ideology Over Science

Dr. Stuart Derbyshire, a neuroscientist at the National University of Singapore made world headlines last year when he stated an unborn baby can feel pain at 12 weeks.  His previous research said it was 24 weeks.  The change was notable because he supports abortion and has worked for Planned Parenthood.  Now, Dr. Derbyshire would like to know why the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a prestigious and avid pro-abortion organization, still promotes his old, incorrect findings on its website.  Under a headline that reads “Facts are Important” the text says, “the connections necessary to transmit signals from peripheral sensory nerves to the brain…do not develop until at least 24 weeks of gestation.”  When it comes to abortion, it’s ideology over science.
