The Lubbock, Texas city Council refused to pass an ordinance declaring it a sanctuary city for unborn babies. So, the people mobilized a petition-led vote and got the final word, passing it by almost two to one. In part it reads, “It shall be unlawful for any person to procure or perform an abortion of any type and at any stage of pregnancy in the City of Lubbock, Texas.” Lubbock’s the largest of 24 other cities that declared their boarders off limits to abortion. Americans are saying no to killing preborn children that can leave their mothers emotionally or physically devastated in its aftermath. Lubbock’s ordinance was in response to a Planned Parenthood abortion center moving in. And the ACLU has come to its aid by legally challenging the voice of the people.
