Stem Cells Help COVID Patients

Bradley Mattes   |   February 02, 2021

A promising study with dramatic results was done on COVID patients suffering with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome, the most serious cases.  Doctors infused stem cells derived from umbilical cords into the patients.  Not the umbilical blood, but from the cord itself.  The study included a small group of patients, but the impressive result has paved the way for more research.  Every patient under 85 years of age infused with stem cells survived COVID and had a faster recovery.  Eighty-one percent of all infused patients, survived.  Compared with 42% of those in the control group.  One umbilical cord can provide doses for ten thousand patients.  Visit lifeissues.org and click on the microphone icon for more information.
