Emmanuelle and her husband Edmond were literally in the process of giving birth to their first child when the explosion ripped through Beirut. Dad was taking video of the process when they heard the blast, and seconds later the combustion exploded into the room, destroying everything in its path. The medical staff moved Emmanuelle to another room and delivered George by the light from the nurses’ cellphones. The blast injured over 6,000 and killed close to 200. George’s parents call him the miracle baby. Others look at the infant as the hope from this disaster. Edmond called his son, “light from darkness, birth from wreckage.” Wouldn’t it be great if God raised this baby up to be a missionary in this Muslim nation? Let’s pray for the people of Beirut as they work to recover from this disaster.
