Abortion More Dangerous than Childbirth

The falsehood that abortion is safer than childbirth is often repeated, recently from high level sources, but that doesn’t make it true.  Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recited the myth during oral arguments earlier this month.  Pro-abortion California congresswoman Jackie Speier said abortion was safer than having your wisdom teeth pulled.  America does a terrible job reporting deaths and complications due to abortion, so there’s no accurate scientific studies.  Europe is more open with their data and a study from Denmark found significantly higher mortality associated with abortion.  Countries where abortion is prohibited have lower maternal mortality rates than other countries.  So, the evidence we do have shows abortion is more dangerous than childbirth.
