Connor Florio is going down in history as one of the smallest premature babies to survive. Certainly, the tiniest to be treated at Westchester Medical Center in Connecticut. But there were times when Jamie and John didn’t think their son would live. His doctors attributed Connor’s survival to the “feisty” way he approached each medical challenge that came his way, like brain bleeds, breathing issues and a disease of the eye. He was born thirteen weeks early and spent nine months in the hospital. Connor weighed just eleven ounces when born, but weighed in at nearly eleven pounds when he went home – more than a tenfold gain. Life is good for mom, dad and baby Connor. John says he doesn’t even mind the dog licking his face.
