What do you say to a pregnant sixteen-year-old girl whose parents are in and out of the drug scene? What’s your response to a twenty-something woman whose career was derailed by pregnancy? What counsel do you have for a couple who were told their unborn baby has Down syndrome? Our reaction should be the same every time. We can respond with love, and it comes in many forms—the empathy we offer, the practical help we provide, the love of Jesus we impart. Offering women concrete life-affirming alternatives to abortion during a traumatic pregnancy is being a conduit of love from Jesus. When these hard life experiences strike, love saves lives. Every conceived human life is loved by God who wants us to extend His love to them and their mothers.
