Those old enough may remember the nickname “Governor Moonbeam” given to California’s Jerry Brown because of his far out leftist polices. Sadly, Mr. Brown has made a comeback as governor and his leftist policies continue. But the California legislature passed a bill so outrageous, not even Governor Moonbeam could support it, so he vetoed it. The bill would’ve forced pro-life organizations, churches, Christian schools or other mission-driven nonprofits to employ people who oppose their principles. It would’ve kept these groups from disciplining or firing employees for actions that violate the organization’s core beliefs. Imagine a pro-abortion director of education in a pro-life group. Thankfully, the radical bill proved to be a bridge too far for this liberal governor.
