There’s an eleventh-hour effort in Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare and end most funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest chain of abortion facilities. The Graham-Cassidy legislation uses a reconciliation bill which only requires a majority vote, not sixty to override a filibuster. But the deadline is September 30, so we must act now. Republicans are without excuse. They must keep their campaign promises. Failure to do so will bring into question whether this Congress can truly be called a “pro-life Congress.” Rhetoric must translate into verifiable action because every day Planned Parenthood kills 900 babies.
