Our nation’s universities are supposed to be bastions of freedom of expression and learning. Unless you’re expressing a pro-life point of view. A Students for Life chapter observed National Pro-Life Chalk Day and the rules of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania when they chalked pro-life messages on campus sidewalks. The problem was university officials disagreed with the content of their messages and had them scrubbed off—not once but twice. It was a clear act of censorship based on the messaging. Now that attorneys are involved, the university claims they’re going to take appropriate action to right the wrong. Time will tell. But even in the face of censorship and injustices like this, we must continue to speak up for the defenseless babies killed by abortion.
