Planned Parenthood “claims” its mission is to provide abortion in privacy for women throughout the nation. Time and time again, their actions fall far short of their words. The most recent example is an egregious violation of the privacy of over 2,500 women. When Planned Parenthood of the Heartland closed its Dubuque facility, it left behind a closet full of patient files. These files included highly personal and private information, such as patient names, Social Security numbers, diagnoses, and treatments. When Planned Parenthood was notified of their oversight, it took 10 days to send someone to retrieve the files. This is a blatant violation of the HIPPAA Law protecting the privacy rights of patients. It shows their first concern isn’t about the women. It’s about the money.
