I noticed this thought-provoking message online. It read, “Are you pregnant and worried your parents will kill you? So is your child. You are overreacting. Your child isn’t.” So many teens think their parents will kill them if they come home pregnant, but the reality is their parents love them and want the best for them. Sure, there’s probably going to be fireworks, but mom and dad are only human. After the smoke clears, love will likely prevail. But the hard truth is the danger to the unborn baby isn’t exaggerated. This baby’s life hangs in the balance depending upon the decision of his or her young mother. If given the opportunity, our job is to help both the teen and her parents realize what’s at stake and the life-long ramifications of aborting her baby for everyone.
