Last May Facebook workers admitted they were censoring conservative posts in favor of liberal ones. Recently, Birthright, a center helping pregnant women, attempted to post an ad on Facebook reading, “Every life is a miracle. If you are pregnant and need help, Birthright is here for you.” Within five minutes of submitting the ad it was rejected. Facebook claimed it was because of the words “If you are pregnant,” comparing that text to saying, “If you are fat.” Birthright had to reword the ad and eventually it was accepted. Twitter has also been caught silently censoring content of popular, conservative users. Censoring is a typical of those who don’t have facts on their side, so they try to silence viewpoints they disagree with. I guess tolerance is only a one-way street.
