A Public Stand for Abstinence

Being a life-long Green Bay Packers fan, I haven’t been that fond of the Seattle Seahawks—the latter team coming out on top during a playoff game.  But Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson has my admiration.  He and his fiancé, Ciara, decided to abstain from sex until married.  They faced criticism, not only for their commitment, but also for their Christian beliefs.  This couple recently married in a fairytale wedding at a castle in England in the company of family and friends.  The circumstances made this event all the more special.  Football stars have an incredible influence on young men and boys.  I’m glad to see a positive, Christian message sent by this celebrity couple.  Join me in praying they have many happy years ahead of them—and lots of babies!
