Mother’s Day is bittersweet for me because some years ago my mom died just weeks before this special day. Every year I get a beautiful flowering basket to hang in her favorite backyard tree as a reminder for Dad and all of us how much we love and miss her. Especially since she adored flowers of all kinds. If your mother is no longer with you on Mother’s Day, you can give thanks that she gave you life. You can still recall the sacrifices she made for you—the crude artwork she proudly displayed on the fridge. Memories of patching you up after the fall from your bike can still warm your heart. And you can thank God for choosing her to be the one who nurtured, taught and loved you.
