The family of Jahi McMath filed a lawsuit against Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California, and the doctor who performed the surgery. Fifteen months ago Jahi made national news when her family fought to keep her alive after the hospital declared her brain dead. While in the recovery room of the hospital Jahi bled so much she went into cardiac arrest. After the surgery, medical personnel aggressively pressured Jahi’s mom to allow them to harvest her organs. Was this an attempt to cover up a botched procedure? Jahi isn’t brain dead. I spent time with her, and when we walked into her room she was softly snoring. While we stood around Jahi’s bed talking, her snoring stopped because we woke her up. I also witnessed her moving to get comfortable. I’ll keep you posted on developments.
