With Valentine’s Day approaching, love’s in the air. And during this special week of broadcasts focused on love, I want to take you back, shortly after Life Issues Institute began. In the early nineties we were looking for a way to touch the hearts of undecided Americans on abortion. We did polling to see how they viewed the pro-lifers and it wasn’t pretty. So we invited all the major pro-life, pro-family groups to Washington, DC for three meetings. We shared our polling, analyzed its meaning and brainstormed on how we could reach undecided people. The result was the phrase “Love Them Both” and it proved very effective. The key was letting Americans know we love both the mother and child and we want to protect the rights of both. Love often says it all.
