Abortion’s impact on the mothers and fathers of the unborn child often last a lifetime. That was dramatically revealed recently when one of the world’s most famous leaders admitted he and his wife had an abortion. Mikhail Gorbachev is known for his relationship with Ronald Reagan and his failure to keep the Soviet Union together. What the world didn’t know until now was that he and his wife Raisa aborted their first child named Sergei after the Soviet leader’s father. Mr. Gorbachev spoke about the continuing grief the abortion still has on his life. The abortion happened fifty-one years ago.
