Chloe’s Law

Bradley Mattes   |   July 28, 2014

I’m blessed to can call eleven-year-old Chloe Kondrich a friend.  Chloe has Down syndrome and is a blessing to everyone she meets.  I’ve featured the family in two past TV episodes of Facing Life Head-On. Chloe, her parents, Kurt and Margie, and brother, Nolan have made early intervention advocacy for children with special needs a lifelong passion.  They were instrumental in passing the Down Syndrome Prenatal Education Act, better known as Chloe’s Law.  It requires all women with a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome be made aware of resources available to them so they can reject abortion and chose life.  During the signing of the bill, pro-life Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett even had Chloe add her signature.

To learn more about Chloe and two professional athletes who make a difference for kids with Down syndrome, watch these episodes of Facing Life Head-On:

Going to Bat for Down Syndrome: Pittsburgh Pirate third baseman Andy LaRoche has a real heart for kids with Down syndrome. The Pirates even allowed us to interview him on the field on game day!

Field of Miracles: Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Sean Casey makes it possible for children with special needs to play the national pastime.
