Sheriff Helps Pregnant Inmate

Bradley Mattes   |   June 02, 2014

It’s good news week when I share positive stories. And I’ve got a great one for you. County Sheriff Kim Cole refused to allow a female inmate an abortion without a court order. She got one and the Sheriff alerted a prayer chain to pray for the baby’s life. Just before the abortion, the woman changed her mind. When she was released from jail, the sheriff gave her his cell number and asked her to call when the baby came. She did and he went up to the hospital to see both mother and baby and got to hold the little boy. The mother placed her baby in an open adoption. Sheriff Cole has a picture of the baby on his desk and keeps in contact with the birth mother. This could’ve turned out horribly wrong instead of the mother choosing life for her baby. Praise God.
