The media likes to feature adoptions gone wrong, so this week of special adoption programming during National Adoption Awareness Month, I want to share another heartwarming story of adoption gone right. Michael and Christy Franklin had two sons when they adopted a sibling group of five. When adopted, Gabby, Alexia, Kaitlin, Maddy and John were Seven and under. Initially these five kids didn’t match the Franklins’ vision of an infant daughter. At first the kids didn’t even know what silverware and napkins were, so obviously there were many challenges. But one of the older boys told his dad, “That’s what God would want us to do.” And God has blessed this family. Maybe God’s offering blessings to you, asking you to open your heart and home to a child.
