Nicole Kelly has gone where no woman has gone before. This blonde beauty was crowned Miss Iowa and will go on to compete in the Miss America pageant. What makes Nicole special is she was born without one arm. Her left hand and forearm are missing. Kelly grew up with people staring at her, and she found her passion in a world where people are given permission to stare at her on stage. I give credit to the judges who looked past what is commonly considered a “disability” to see that Nicole is a complete package with or without both arms. In today’s culture, unborn children like Nicole are routinely aborted because the medical community and society pressure mothers and fathers to have only physically “perfect” children. Nicole is breaking the mold.
