Poor, urban women are underserved when it comes to assisting them with unexpected pregnancies. One of the biggest problems is transportation to prenatal care. A new project called the Morning Centers is helping to change that. They’re bringing a gold standard of medical care directly into the poorest neighborhoods. Sponsored by Samaritans Ministries International, the Morning Center uses minivans to bring essential equipment to women, or RVs with state of the art exam rooms and ultrasound. Medical care comes to them so they don’t have to take a day off work and offer childcare. It’s staffed by medical missionaries, including OB Doctors, and trained nurse midwives. Their goal is to also share Christ and connect them with churches and other ministries providing needed services. I pray God richly blesses this ministry.
