Drama in China Over Forced Abortion

Bradley Mattes   |   June 27, 2012

Two horrific situations have surfaced in China regarding the brutal forced-abortion, one-child policy. A woman seven months pregnant was arrested and detained by family planning officials. They wanted over $6,000 to allow the couple to have a second child. When the family couldn’’t come up with the money, they forcibly aborted the baby. A graphic image of the grieving mother and aborted baby lying next to her went viral. Another woman five months pregnant has been detained and threatened, but publicity and intervention by Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey may have made Chinese officials back off. Recent publicity with Chen Guangcheng’’s escape from house arrest has finally put China’’s evil policy in the spotlight. Let’’s pray this brutality against life ceases.
