Teacher Gives Plan B to Student

Bradley Mattes   |   March 08, 2012

Tracy Lee Steinberg is an ex-math teacher at Lyndon B. Johnson High School in Austin, Texas. She had to resign after secretly giving a 16-year-old girl two of the morning-after pills, also called Plan B. The teacher went to the local Planned Parenthood to purchase the drug and then gave it to the young girl, who became sick from the medication. As a result, the girl told her mom what happened and the mother filed a police report. Teachers can’’t even give students aspirin without parental authority. Mom or Dad has to bring any drugs to the school and sign a specific authorization form. After the teacher resigned, she expressed anger toward the student for getting her into trouble. Her anger is misplaced. She knowingly put the young girl’’s health at risk. This is a reminder for you parents to be ever vigilant with our children.
