Legislature Protecting Women and Babies

Bradley Mattes   |   March 24, 2011

The South Dakota State Legislature is once again on the cutting edge when it comes to protecting unborn babies and their mothers from abortion. A recently passed bill requires a 72-hour waiting period between first meeting with the abortionist and the actual abortion. This is three times longer than any other state. It also requires written evidence the woman has gone to a pro-life women help center to make sure she’s getting information on all of her options. Third, it requires the abortion mill to provide on-site counseling. But this time the abortionist must offer it himself. The longer a woman contemplates the true reality of abortion, the more likely she’ll choose life. God bless these lawmakers for standing in the gap to protect women and their babies.
