What Really Happened in DC

ve8QAd   |   March 22, 2010

It’s with a very heavy heart that I report so-called pro-life Democrat members of the House, led by Bart Stupak, have caved and sold out America’s unborn babies on a promise made by the most pro-abortion president in our nation’s history.

Stupak and others, who were anxious to support a government-controlled health care plan, accepted the President’s executive order as a way to resolve the contentious abortion controversy. The hard truth, however, is that the President can’t simply amend a bill by signing such an order. Further, the federal courts will enforce the written law.

Many pro-life legal experts have studied this issue and overwhelmingly agree that the executive order will have little if any legal effect in protecting our nation’s unborn babies from abortion in this health care bill.

We’ll be providing more detailed analysis in the days to come. But don’t be fooled. These members of the House who claim to be pro-life have taken part in the biggest legislative expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

Pray for our nation. Pray for America’s unborn babies. We’re not giving up, but are more determined now than ever to counter this latest devastating blow to protecting innocent human life.
