It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
While this isn’t my favorite Christmas carol, I do agree with its sentiment. My friends and family are well-aware that I love most all things Christmas. It’s reflected in the Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas decorations – and most importantly – nativity scenes throughout our home and displayed outside on and in front of our house.
You may not be as enthusiastic in your Christmas celebration, but as pro-lifers, we have a special attraction to the reason for the season.
Hopefully, Christmas is a joyous celebration for you because we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child. His name is even embedded, much to the consternation of some, in the name of the holiday.
God put His plan to save the world into action when “the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us” (John 1:14). Imagine the King of Kings and Lord of Lords leaving the perfection and bliss of heaven to find himself in a cold, filthy and smelly stable. Talk about a culture shock!
He did this because of the unmeasurable love He has for you and me. Yes, that’s worth celebrating!
As pro-lifers we share God’s love for humans so much that we work to protect innocent human life from womb to tomb. Which reminds me of an empty tomb but that’s another story.
In this season we celebrate the ultimate gift to the world, Jesus Christ, who came as a mere babe. May we, in dedication and love to Him, continue our work to welcome all children and to protect their mothers and fathers from abortion.
Life Issues Institute is going to need you by our side throughout 2019, whether it be by donations or prayer support – hopefully both. We’re making progress, and I believe that if we remain faithful to our Savior’s calling, He will continue to bless our work.
Let me leave you with this important thought. Even though the world seems like its about to spin off its axis, always remember that the helpless baby born in that cold, filthy and smelly stable is now at the right hand of God and firmly in control of all that happens on earth.
Let’s seek His face often for direction, provision and endurance.
