Following the death of Roe v. Wade, the battle for life is raging in every state in the country.
While states like Texas and Missouri have passed strong legislation to protect the sanctity of life, others like California and New York have fought to allow full-term abortion. This cavernous divide on life issues is on clear display regarding life-saving pregnancy resource centers (PRCs).
Unlike Planned Parenthood abortion centers, pregnancy resource centers affirm the life of the baby and present mothers with hope. Rather than coercing vulnerable women into killing their children, they connect them with resources and empower them to choose life.
Their commitment to the sanctity of life has unfortunately placed PRCs in the sights of pro-abortion politicians. Dramatically, the state of Massachusetts has launched a billboard campaign targeting the state’s PRCs. The billboards label them as “anti-abortion centers” and falsely claim that “they MISLEAD you about your options if you’re pregnant.” Another claim states, “they may look like medical clinics, but they can put your health at risk.”
The billboards, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, proudly display a link to an official government website ripe with pro-abortion material.
On the flip side of the coin, the state of Arkansas is empowering their PRCs rather than attacking them. Arkansas has delivered $1 million to lifesaving PRCs, maternity homes, adoption agencies, and maternity homes. Another $2 million will be allocated next year for groups that help with prenatal care options, emotional support, and material support for women and their babies.
Arkansas is a shining example of supporting the work of those who tirelessly strive to defend life. Mothers deserve a helping hand, not a cruel coercive push toward abortion.
Pregnancy resource centers save lives. They do not limit a woman’s options; they expand them. They encourage women and provide the much-needed support to empower mothers to choose life. In the battle for life these pregnancy resource centers take the arrows volleyed at them by institutions like the government of Massachusetts, and counter them with an outpouring of love.
