Cincinnati, OH (Dec 2, 2013) – The link between abortion and breast cancer has been fiercely debated. A new systematic review out of China presents comprehensive evidence that women who’ve had an abortion are subject to a significantly increased risk of breast cancer.
The results of the meta-analysis are combined from a total of 36 studies and published in the internationally recognized peer-reviewed journal, Cancer Causes and Control. The report shows the overall risk of developing breast cancer among women who had at least one induced abortion was increased by 44 percent.
Furthermore, the study shows that the risk increases exponentially for women who had more than one abortion. Two abortions increase the risk of breast cancer to 76 percent and three abortions raise the risk even more to 89 percent. This follows two other studies this year from India and Bangladesh citing even higher risks for women.
“Flat-earth, pro-abortion activists have long denied the link between abortion and breast cancer exists. This study exposes what they’ve tried to hide,” says Brad Mattes, CEO of Life Issues Institute. “Women have been deceived by the abortion industry and are paying with their health and lives. It’s critical that this deception be confronted with sound factual information, and we have it. Women deserve to know the truth about how abortion can have a devastating impact on their long-term health.”
