Life Issues Institute Stands with the Persecuted Messengers that Exposed Late-Term Abortions
Five pro-life activists have been found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act by a Washington DC jury after protesting in an attempt to save unborn babies at a late-term abortion facility in 2020. Defendants await their sentencing, each facing up to 11 years in prison and fines as high as $350,000.
The lead defendant in the trial, Lauren Handy, uncovered evidence, which was presented to authorities, that the very DC abortion facility they protested was executing illegal late-term abortions. The judge refused to allow images of these aborted babies to be presented by the defense. Rather than coming down on the abortionists, the hammer of “justice” is coming down on those who exposed their evil.
Brad Mattes President of Life Issues Institute had this to say “These pro-lifers’ conviction had nothing to do with justice but was political payback for exposing a notorious late-term abortionist with undeniable evidence he used partial birth abortion to kill his victims, which was banned several years ago. They were angry that officials had to cover up the federal violations of an abortionist and instead accused the messengers of altering the babies’ bodies. It’s a persecution of the messengers.”
The defendants are a part of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU). On social media PAAU stated “The defense attorneys feel they have strong grounds to appeal and feel optimistic that a higher court will later rule in their favor. This may even go all the way to the Supreme Court. In the meantime, our hero rescuers await sentencing.”
