Mercy Maternity Home is a faith-based residential home that provides long-term assistance to young pregnant women. They provide pregnancy counseling, pre-natal guidance, financial planning, basic life skills classes, and guidance on employment and education advancement. Cara Gault is the director of Mercy Maternity Home and has a passion for assisting young women who have chosen life for their unborn babies. Mercy Maternity Home doesn’t just encourage women to choose life. They work to improve the quality of life for both the mother and her unborn child.

Marianne Edmonds is the house mom at Mercy. She keeps a permanent residence in the home, along with her husband, Rich, and their two teenage daughters. She’s in charge of keeping the girls on task during the day and encouraging them to attain the goals they set. Most of the women who come to the home have never been a part of a healthy, family environment. Marianne and her family provide a wonderful model for the women to learn from and emanate.

Young women who have no place to go while pregnant seek refuge at Mercy Maternity Home. Sam Oliver was one such woman. When she was 16 years old, Sam discovered that she was pregnant. She had a long history of getting into trouble and making poor decisions. But with a child on the way, Sam knew she wanted to turn her life around. Mercy Maternity Home helped her get on the path to success.

After saying no to abortion, many women may ask, “Now what do I do?” Places like Mercy Maternity Home are providing answers and guidance to young women who have made the wonderful decision to choose life for their unborn babies.
