During the annual March for Life events in Washington, DC, Life Issues Institute’s Arnold Culbreath was honored at a Capitol Hill reception. Congressmen Chris Smith of New Jersey and Mike Pence of Indiana hosted the event to acknowledge and celebrate the work of pro-life African-American leaders.

Sixteen various pro-life members of Congress were on hand to take part in the celebration. Several spoke about the need to protect unborn babies in the African-American community that has been targeted by the abortion industry.

Arnold Culbreath, director of Life Issues Institute’s Urban Outreach program, said, “It is an honor to have Chairman Mike Pence, Rep. Chris Smith and the House Republican Conference host a reception celebrating the pro-life efforts of African-American leaders. Hearing the members of Congress share their passion for life during the reception was quite exhilarating. And it’s even more meaningful to know that their walk matches their talk. With abortion being the #1 killer of African-Americans, I’d really like to see our black congressional leaders publically protecting the unborn also. It shouldn’t matter what your political affiliation is, we ought to all work to educate those around us about abortion’s effects, and fight to protect our most vulnerable—the unborn.”
