Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin is suing to tear down two laws protecting women: one requiring that only doctors perform abortions, and another requiring a 24-hour waiting period. They want the court to invent a state right to abortion.
Think about that. No doctor required. No waiting period, meaning no time to consider alternatives. This from an industry whose pill leaves about 11 percent of women with serious adverse events like hemorrhaging and infection.
Planned Parenthood calls this healthcare. Real healthcare doesn’t remove the doctor, erase the waiting period, and silence counselors. It protects patients, including babies.
