Canada Nears 100,000 Deaths by Euthanasia

Ten years ago, Canada legalized euthanasia through a program called MAID, “medical assistance in dying.” It was promoted as a limited option for terminally ill patients suffering unbearable pain. But the boundaries never stopped expanding.

Today, Canada is approaching 100,000 euthanasia deaths, with nearly 18,000 killed last year alone. These cases now include people suffering from chronic illness, disability, and even emotional distress. Some reportedly sought death because they lacked adequate care or support.

This is the danger of a culture that stops recognizing the inherent value of every human life. Once society accepts the idea that some lives are no longer worth living, the line keeps moving.
